Goulburn / Big Merino

Dear Ryan, we've been to Goulburn to see the Big Merino!

A merino is a type of sheep with very good quality wool. Australia has always had a very big wool industry, and sells wool all over the world - even to England!

Goulburn has so many sheep farms that one day they decided to celebrate by building a gigantic concrete one on the motorway to amaze travellers.

It's 3 storeys high and is hollow, so you can climb inside, go upstairs and look through it's eyes!

Australia has lots of funny "big things" to attract tourists - we'll try to send you postcards of the best ones.
